3 Different Ways to Access the Model Release Form
For Use of Student’s Name, Picture, or Materials For Publication, Broadcast, Pen-Pal Exchange, Web Site Posting, and Class Projects.
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Your child's picture, name, or work may be used in one of the following ways:
Posted to the school system or school website on the Internet.
Submitted to publishers for publication.
Shared with other students in pen-pal projects.
Broadcast on television, radio, newspapers, and district social media.
Used in a demonstration project to be presented at conferences or workshops.
Published in the school yearbook.
I understand that directory information will be provided. I agree that Nash County Public Schools and those whose use of the publication, broadcast, pen-pal exchange, or website is authorized by the schools shall not be held liable for such use, display, on website, conference, or publication. I also understand that the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act, 20 U.S.C.s 1232 g, prohibits the disclosure of any confidential education record regarding my child without my written consent.
Permission is hereby granted for news photographers or videographers to photograph or record my child during the school day and at school-related activities for the expressed purpose of publication and broadcast. Permission is also granted for my child's work or picture to be published on the Internet and shown at conferences. Student work will appear with the student's first name and last name; no home address or telephone number will appear with the work.

North Carolina State AFROTC: Shadow Day Event
We are excited to invite students from around the region to our upcoming Shadow Day event at NC State University to experience the life of an Air Force ROTC cadet.
Time is of the essence, with limited spots available!

Students must secure their place by RSVPing no later than January 31st.

Drivers Education Information
This is to let students interested in taking the online classroom part of Drivers Ed know that the next class is scheduled to begin January 8 (January 8-19). If you are interested in taking Drivers Ed and will be at least 14 1/2 by January 8, go to www.jdscarolinas.com and click on the Nash County tab. Go to the Nash County link at the top of the page to pay your fee for the class ($47.15). Take a screenshot of your receipt number and return it to the JDS Nash Co. page. Click on the January 8-19 class for Southern Nash (at the bottom of the page) and complete the Google form. You will be registered for the class when you complete these steps, and you will be contacted approximately one week before the class begins to explain how the class will work and what will be expected of you in the class.
FAFSA Information
We invite all students and families to join us for a FAFSA line-by-line walkthrough webinar on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. This will be a great opportunity for students and families to preview the form before filling it out.

Coopers Elementary ACE Club Donation
Coopers Elementary's ACE club donates $405 to UNC Health Care Foundation. The money raised will be used to purchase Aquaphor for radiation patients to aid healing. They raised the money by having a "Hat Day" fundraiser.
