SNMS Weekly Newsletter

Monday, April 15, 2024 - Friday, April 19, 2024

Good Evening Cobra Families:

This is Sonya Horton, principal of Southern Nash Middle School, with the weekly announcements for Monday, April 15, 2024 - Friday, April 19, 2024.

This week we will be celebrating Autism Awareness Spirit Week. Monday is wear blue or Autism shirt. Also, please come out and support the softball team Monday afternoon. Tuesday is hat and crazy hair day. Students will still be required to be in uniform on Tuesday. Wednesday is tie dye day. Thursday is crazy socks and crocs and students will be required to be in uniform. Friday is tacky day.

We have 27 instructional days before student's begin EOG testing. It is hard to believe that this school year is almost over! However, we still have a lot of work to do so please make sure your child is at school every day and ready to learn. Let's make every day count and continue to work hard as we prepare for success!

Wednesday will be an early release day of students. Students will dismiss at 1:30pm.

Thursday we will participate in a practice lock down drill with law enforcement. The safety our students is our primary concern and we must practice these emergency drills.

Teacher Appreciation Week is the week of May 6th-10th. We would like to show our staff just how much we appreciate them. If you would like to sponsor a day, please reach out to Ms. Horton or the school at 252-937-9020.

8th grade dance is April 26th from 5:30-7:30. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help in any way. We certainly appreciate your support.

Parents please refer to the weekly newsletter that is sent in email and text to refer to important EOY dates.

Thank you so much parents for making sure your child is following the dress code daily. Hoodies should be SNMS colors only, and students should wear uniform approved pants. Here's the link for the dress/uniform code at SNMS, https://southernnashms.ncpschools.net/o/snms/page/snms-school-uniform-policy

We look forward to a wonderful week! Have a great evening!

Thank you,

Ms. Horton
