Good Evening Cobra Families:

This is Sonya Horton, principal of Southern Nash Middle School, with the weekly announcements for Monday, March 25, 2024 - Friday, March 29, 2024.

Report cards will be sent home with your child Monday, March 25th. Please check their bookbags for important information. There is a district letter that will be going home about summer learning opportunity for students who do not pass their EOGs the first time. Please make sure you sign and return this letter. There is also a model release form being sent home. If you have not filled this out for your child please make sure you sign the form or fill it out using the link included in this newsletter to ensure your child can be included in pictures.

There will not be any summer school for middle school students. If your child is failing 2 or more core classes please make sure you reach out to your child's teacher. Students will be held to the district promotion standards for academics and attendance.

Parents, some of your children have an outstanding cafeteria balance. Please make sure you pay these fee's to the cafeteria. We will begin calling parents of students who owe money after Spring Break.

Teacher Appreciation Week is the week of May 6th-10th. We would like to show our staff just how much we appreciate them. If you would like to sponsor a day, please reach out to me or the school at 252-937-9020.

Friday is a Holiday and the beginning of Spring Break. Students and staff will return back to school on Monday, April 8th. We hope you all have a restful and wonderful break. When we return we will have 33 more instructional days before the first day of EOGs. We have a lot of work to do so please make sure your child comes to school every day ready to learn.

Thank you so much parents for making sure your child is following the dress code daily. Hoodies should be SNMS colors only, and students should wear uniform approved pants.
