Good Evening Cobra Families:

This is Sonya Horton, principal of Southern Nash Middle School, with the weekly announcements for Monday, March 18, 2024 - Friday, March 22, 2024.

The 3rd nine weeks ends March 18th and report cards will be released on March 25th. A paper copy will also be sent home with your child next week. Please make sure you are checking your child's grades. There will be no summer school for middle school students. If your child is failing classes, please reach out to your child's teacher. Student's will be held to the district promotion standards. We have 42 more instructional days until the EOGs.

This week eighth grade band students will be participating in the MPA field trip on Tuesday, March 19th. Participating students need to make sure that their field trip forms are signed and returned to Mrs. Howell on Monday, March 18th. Students should wear concert black to school on Tuesday and arrive between 7-7:30AM and report to the band room. Students will arrive back on campus by 2:30PM, so students will dismiss as normal. Please contact Mrs. Howell if you have any questions or concerns.

Eight grade students will be taking the Science benchmark on Wednesday, March 20th. All grade levels will be taking the Reading Benchmark on Thursday, March 21st.

Friday, March 22nd will be a dress down day for students. Students must bring $2.00 in order to participate. Also parents, as the weather is getting warmer, please make sure students are following the school dress code. It is linked in the the weekly announcements.

Thank you so much parents for making sure your child is following the dress code daily. Hoodies should be SNMS colors only, and students should wear uniform approved pants. For your child to be included in any NEW content for yearbook or any school-related social media pic/video/audio, the student's parent/guardian HAS to Opt-In their child. All of that information can be found by clicking on the link shared in the document or on our school website.

Option 1:

Sign the form via the App using ROOMS!

Beginning January 1, 2024 - for your child to have their picture/video/audio-recording taken, the student's parent/guardian has to Opt-In their child.

The model release form also permits your child to be in the yearbook or included in any school-related social media. While opting in is not mandatory, students who aren't opted in will not appear in any new media content produced by the school or district. You can locate this form inside the Materials Section -> "Mandatory" folder -> "updated model release form."
