Message From the Principal
Good Evening Cobra Families,
Congratulations to Jelisia Foy for winning the Nash County Spelling Bee! We are so proud of her!
This upcoming week, there is no school tomorrow, Monday, February 10th and Tuesday, February 11th as they are teacher workdays. Students will return to school on Wednesday, February 12th. Friday, February 14th is Valentine's Day. Please have students refrain from bringing items to school for Valentine's Day such as large stuffed animals, flowers, and balloons.
Spring try-out information is included in this newsletter. Baseball and softball will be February 12-14 from 3:30-5:30. Cross Country will be February 12-14 from 3:30-5:00. Soccer will be February 19-21 from 3:30-5:15. Students must have an updated physical on file and have passed 5 out of the 6 classes in the Fall and not missed more than 13 days of school in order to be eligible.
Students there is an awesome event happening on February 13th from 4:30pm - 6:30 pm at Nash Community College's Brown Auditorium. It is the CTE Showcase. This event will allow you to participate in many hands-on career experiences. You will be able to talk to Nash County school staff, college staff, and professionals about careers that interest you. This will be a fun night of learning about careers. Also, there will be four large giveaways that you will be automatically entered in if you attend the CTE Showcase. You must be present to win. Also, food trucks will be on site for dinner purchases. Please make plans to attend the CTE Showcase on February 13th.
Thank you for your support,
Sonya Horton, Principal

Bus Information
Nash County Public Schools (NCPS) school buses are now equipped with GPS technology that may benefit your household. The WheresTheBusTM parent app lets you know precisely when your child’s bus will arrive at your bus stop. This app is free to all NCPS bus-riding households. The system also helps Transportation efficiently manage our bus fleet.
To use the WheresTheBusTM app, download the WheresTheBusTM app from the App Store (iOS / Apple) or Google Play Store (Android). You will be prompted to create an account. Select Nash County Public Schools from the dropdown menu and provide your student’s information. Once your student’s information is verified, you will create an account and will be able to log in and access the app.
Additional information on the WheresTheBusTM parent app is available on https://www.ncpschools.net/page/wheresthebus. We encourage you to try this exciting new technology, as we continually strive to provide you with the best possible transportation service.
Please direct all bus questions and concerns to Assistant Principal Mr. Ward (dlward@ncpschools.net).
NCPS has switched student information systems over the summer. We are no longer using PowerSchool or Parent Portal; instead, we've transitioned to the new NCSIS, powered by Infinite Campus.
So, what does this mean for you? You will receive an email from Infinite Campus to set up your account. Parents and Guardians, please look for an email titled "NCPS Campus Parent User Account Activation." This email will contain a unique link that provides the activation code for each student.
What if I did not receive an email?
You can reach out to our data manager for support.
Will we still use Rooms? Absolutely! Rooms will continue to be used for communication between your child’s teacher and you, the guardian.
Will we still use the NCPS App? Yes! The NCPS App is on a different platform and is not changing.
The only difference is that PowerSchool Parent Portal is now Infinite Campus. What you were familiar with as Parent Portal is now called Campus Parent and Campus Student.
Campus Parent and Campus Student, the Infinite Campus web portals and mobile apps, provide parents, guardians, and students with real-time access to grades, attendance, assignments, and schedules.
