SNMS Weekly Principal Update from Ms. Horton

SNMS Weekly Newsletter

Monday, January 22 - Friday, January 26, 2024

Good Evening, Cobra Families:

This is Sonya Horton, principal of Southern Nash Middle School, with the weekly announcements of Monday, January 22 - Friday, January 26, 2024.

We will have our Candy Bar Fundraiser Kick Off meeting with students Wednesday, January 24th. This information was sent home with your child on Friday. There is a permission form attached to the information sent home. Please make sure you fill this out if you would like your child to participate. We will begin to pass out candy on Thursday, January 25th. The sale will end February 13th.

Please continue to encourage your child to work hard on their exact path. We would like to be the top middle school for the next competition! We received 2nd place with the highest increase for this past competition.

Students who received A Honor Roll this past report card, will be attending a field trip this Friday, January 26th. Congratulations to these students!

Also, we will have a dress down day on Friday. Student's can bring $2.00 who would like to participate.

Thank you so much parents for making sure your child is following the dress code daily. Hoodies should be SNMS colors only, and students should wear uniform approved pants. Here's the link for the dress/uniform code at SNMS, https://southernnashms.ncpschools.net/o/snms/page/snms-school-uniform-policy

Students are allowed to have their cell phones at school. However, they are expected to be turned off and in their bookbags during the school day.

Please remember that the front loop in the front of the building is for the buses. Please use the car line by the gym for drop off before 8:45am and pick up until 4:00pm. This is a safety concern for our students and buses.

We look forward to a wonderful week! Have a great evening!

Thank you,

Ms. Horton
