Northern Nash High School News

Week March 4 - 15
Attendance Matter

Dear Knight Families,

The end of the nine weeks is approaching quickly. The grading period will end on Monday, March 18th. Parents, please check your child's grades in PowerSchool. If your child is failing classes, contact your child's teacher. All students will be held to the district promotion standards. To earn a high school credit, students must do the following:

  • Pass Course (60+) and Proficient on EOC (3 or higher) = Credit Earned

  • Pass Course (60+) and Not Proficient on EOC (3 or higher) = Required to participate in an Additional Assessment Opportunity May 31 - June 5, 2024

  • Fail Course (59 or below) and Not Proficient on EOC (3 or higher) = Credit Recovery or Repeat the Course during the 2024 - 2025 school year.

Attendance is essential for students to learn the curriculum and to earn high school credit. Students must be present at least two-thirds of each instructional period (49 minutes for the Knight Time Schedule/60 minutes for the Regular Schedule) to be marked present for that class. Students can only miss up to ten school days to receive credit for the course. They can only make up five days after the missed ten days. The process does not start over once the five days are made up for each class. Any days missed beyond day 14 can be taken to the school attendance committee through the attendance waiver process.

Thursday, March 7th, at 5:30 in the cafeteria, we will host an 8th-grade parent information night. Counselors will be available to give information on course requirements for upcoming Freshmen.

Remember to set your clocks up for 1 hour at midnight on Sunday, March 10th!

Thursday, March 14, and Friday, March 15, will be teacher workdays, so there will be no school for students!

Happy School Social Worker Week

We appreciate all the hard work and dedication Mrs. Pittman provides for our students and staff.
