Dear Parents and Guardians,
This week, our 3rd–5th grade students will take the Math and ELA benchmark assessments on Monday, April 14 and Tuesday, April 15. Please ensure students arrive on time, as testing will begin promptly at 8:15 AM.
Field Day will take place on Thursday! As of now, the forecast is calling for sunshine and a perfect 66 degrees. Field Day shirts will be sent home this week.
Spring Break will begin on Friday, April 18, and students will return to school on Monday, April 28.
Last Friday, we had a special visit from Senator Lisa Barnes, who toured our campus. Our 4th grade Marshals gave her a warm welcome and guided her on the tour. The Student Government Association led a presentation, and our African Drummers performed a song. Senator Barnes repeatedly praised how polite, kind, and happy our students were—that’s the best compliment of all. Happy students learn.
Congratulations to our Girls and Boys Basketball Teams!
The Girls gave it their all in a tough game against Nashville, and the Boys made it to the Championship game, playing Red Oak. We are so proud of both teams for playing with grace, respect, and excellent sportsmanship. Our cheerleaders were absolutely fantastic, bringing great energy to every game.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing coaches:
Coach Valovic, Coach Spooner, Coach Brown, Coach Patterson, Ms. Lockett, and Ms. Murphy.
And of course, thank you to the parents and staff who supported the teams—your presence means so much!
Only 4 more school days until Field Day—we can’t wait!
Warmly,
Kristen Tedford
Principal
